Product Owner – Real Time Data Transfer & Entitlement 

Under broad direction, you will be responsible for successful delivery of key technologies for real-time petrotechnical data transmission and entitlement. You will be responsible for what is delivered and in what order, the return on investment, and managing the communications between stakeholders, management, and the Scrum team. This role provides a clear understanding of the problem to the development team and actively works with them to create and implement a solution. In this role, you will be responsible for leading development of up to two independent products in a highly integrated environment. 

 

Responsibilities 

• Works with stakeholders across multiple product lines and disciplines to create a vision, scope, and roadmap for a product 
• Responsible for managing different product teams from 20 – 30 individuals
• Direct and monitor the work of other programming personnel across large scale development projects including involvement in design and milestone reviews
• Maintains a product roadmap for one or more products 
• Sets priority on features  
• Writes user stories and maintains the product backlog 
• Proactively seeks understanding of complex business problems potentially impacting multiple product lines 
• Collaborates daily with the development team to provide the best solution and answer subject and project related questions 
• Facilitates communication between stakeholders and Scrum team 
• Works with an onshore and/or offshore development team 
• Leads planning meetings every sprint for each product 
• Involved in daily standups and bi-weekly retrospectives 
• Upholds Scrum principles with the help of a Scrum Master 
• Understands the business or function for which the application is designed
• Incumbent is able to operate unsupervised and is called on to consult for the most complex design projects

 

Minimum Requirements 

• 4-year college degree: a plus to have a major in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or similar discipline
• Skills typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar discipline, and 7 years of related experience or through 11 years of software development experience. Completion of a masters in Computer Science or similar discipline is preferred

 

Recommended Requirements 

• Project management knowledge and experience 
• Understanding of Scrum and Agile 
• Scrum Product Owner Certification 
• Oil & Gas Domain expertise, especially related to real-time data acquisition and transmission 
• Systems Integration operational experience 
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including demonstrated experience presenting to executives
• Experience leading software development projects through all phases of the SDLC
