What you'll do

Docusign is seeking an experienced International Tax Director to lead global tax strategy, planning and risk management for our rapidly growing, technology‑driven business. This highly visible role will partner closely with the VP of Tax, senior finance leaders and cross‑functional teams to drive international tax planning, transfer pricing, Pillar Two readiness, and support strategic business initiatives, including M&A and global expansion.

 

The ideal candidate is a hands-on international tax leader with deep experience in audits, transfer pricing, global structuring, Pillar Two and other OECD/BEPS developments, and planning for a high‑growth, multinational tech company.

 

This position is a people manager role reporting to the Vice President, Tax.

 

Responsibility

  • Lead Docusign’s global international tax strategy and planning, including cross‑border structuring, financing, and legal entity optimization to support business expansion and IAM‑driven growth

  • Partner with the VP of Tax on all tax planning and implementation, M&A, international tax, transfer pricing, and global business expansion matters

  • Own Pillar Two and broader OECD/BEPS initiatives for Docusign and assess impacts, design and implement structures and processes to manage effective tax rate, and ensure timely compliance and reporting

  • Manage and oversee international tax audits, including transfer pricing examinations and information requests, and coordinate responses, manage advisors, and drive defensible positions aligned with business operations

  • Design, implement and maintain Docusign’s global transfer pricing policy, including methodologies, documentation, and intercompany pricing for IP, services, and cost sharing

  • Prepare and maintain intercompany agreements and allocations to align with operational reality and tax planning objectives

  • Advise on and oversee all key US international tax calculations, including GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, foreign tax credit limitations, withholding taxes and global minimum tax calculations

  • Monitor and analyze existing and proposed tax legislation (US and foreign), including Pillar Two rules, digital services taxes, and other developments impacting Docusign’s global footprint, and communicate implications and recommended actions to leadership

  • Partner with and advise business and cross‑functional teams (Legal, Finance, Corporate Development, Product Teams) on business initiatives, contracts, withholding tax matters, and customer agreements, ensuring alignment with tax strategy and compliance

  • Collaborate with the tax provision and compliance teams and broader accounting organization to operationalize planning initiatives and ensure accurate reporting and forecasting

  • Lead tax due diligence and structuring for acquisitions, investments and new market entries and develop integration and post‑acquisition tax roadmaps

  • Develop and maintain scalable models to analyze effective tax rate, cash tax impacts, and scenario planning for international tax strategies and communicate findings to executive stakeholders

  • Manage external advisors and consultants, ensuring high‑quality, practical advice and efficient execution across jurisdictions

  • Drive continuous process improvement in global tax governance, documentation, and controls, aligned with Docusign’s principles of ownership, improvement and one‑team collaboration
