Job Description

As Engineering Technician, you will supporting Engineering and Production with the machining process by troubleshooting and correcting issues, developing new fixturing, tooling, and programs, continually improving existing processes, and helping to mature the machining process. Secondary focus will be aiding the engineering team with implementation of advanced machining methods utilizing 5-axis and 7-axis milling and grinding equipment.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and modify CAD models and CAM programs for milling and grinding.
  • Assist with design, manufacture, qualification, and documentation of tools and fixtures
  • Perform first article / first piece inspections
  • Develop new, and improve upon existing, machining programs for Grinding, Milling, and EDM processes
  • Assist with tool and fixture design, qualification, and documentation.
  • Perform inspections and contribute to root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Collect and analyze manufacturing data.
  • Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with quality requirements.

 

Qualifications

  • Technical school diploma (2 years minimum), or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or applicable experience)
  • Proficient in 3d CAD modeling. NX or KeyCreator preferred. Solidworks acceptable
  • Proficient in CAM programming. NX preferred, Mastercam acceptable
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T
  • Thorough understanding of machining processes and methods
  • PC-DMIS, Geomagic, or similar software experience preferred
  • Able to read and interpret documents, write reports and correspondence clearly and informatively
