Position Summary

The Washington University Consortium for Education Research, Practice, and Policy Partnerships (WU-CERP3) is a university-wide education research initiative that will serve as a hub and catalyst for research-to-practice-to-policy partnership initiatives in education. Through transdisciplinary science, community-based research, and data-driven evidence, CERP3 will improve our ability to comprehensively understand systematic barriers to opportunities across multiple contexts, as well as our ability to design, implement, and test policies, programs, and practices that both seek to remove these barriers and create new opportunities. Ultimately, CERP3 will reduce social inequities in the St. Louis region, and allow it to reach its full potential.

● WU-CERP3 is seeking a highly organized, mission-driven project manager to help build and lead a new transdisciplinary research, practice, and policy initiative in education.
● Position will involve, initiating long- medium- and short-term projects, seeking out new partnerships, building consensus, and managing relationships.

This is not a remote position.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Administrative Project Management

  • Serve as primary program contact person for faculty, partners, consultants, other researchers, student research assistants on manager’s projects.
  • Establish and lead strong relationships and connections with academic and community partners to foster meaningful collaborations and dissemination of the work.
  • Independently manage complex projects, staff and tasks with limited supervision while meeting expectations.
  • Develop strategies for successful implementation of program initiatives.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead regular meetings, conference calls and trainings.
  • Manage budgetary expenditures in cooperation with the Center Leadership.
  • Assist with database development.
  • Lead efforts to improve equity and inclusion within the center.
  • Develop and implement project timelines.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and final reports for funding agency.
  • Represent CERP at a variety of forums, convenings, and conferences. Serve as co-lead for local, regional, and national committees. Develop metrics and target objectives for initiative engagement and participation.

 

Research Translation

  • Oversee the research, development, writing, and editing of content for translational products including websites, oral presentations, fact sheets, and posters to meet project deliverables.
  • Deliver and/or facilitate virtual and in-person presentations, trainings, and workshops to key partners.
  • Lead and co-lead data analysis and peer-reviewed manuscript development.
  • Identify resources, conduct research and gather data as needed.
  • Routinely share data, findings and insights with community partners, funders and other grantees.

Research and Writing

  • Provide guidance and resources to Center staff on research translation, including writing for different platforms and audiences.
  • Lead the preparation of manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals, including data collection and analysis, drafting and editing manuscript text, managing references, and ensuring that manuscripts conform to journal style guidelines.
  • Assist with program- and Center-related quantitative and qualitative data collection, intervention development and delivery, and evaluation.
  • Contribute to obtaining new funding to continue the work of the CERP in the field of translation science.

Student Supervision

  • Advise and supervise graduate and doctoral students throughout the lifecycle of complex research projects, including planning, data collection and analysis, reporting and dissemination of findings.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Perform additional duties as assigned that support the Center and the Brown School and fall within the reasonable scope of this position.

Working Conditions

The individual hired for this position will work in an office setting in Hillman Hall at the Brown School, typically sitting at a desk or table. This work requires repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement and use of office equipment. May require the ability to travel to off-campus locations.
