HybridWe have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director of Technical Accounting & Controls which is a key part of the Internal Controls & Standard Processes Finance Team for our Interiors business. This role provides a unique opportunity to partner with all our Interiors sites and their leadership to provide guidance and education in regards to technical accounting matters and internal controls. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to promote the importance of a strong controls environment within a fast paced business.
This role will be a remote position based in the US with regular travel required (up to 20% domestically and internationally).
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage and co-ordinate the control activities for the Interiors Strategic Business Unit
Partner with site controllers and compliance leads to identify ways to enhance the controls environment at our sites
Work with the Collins Aerospace central controllership team to provide technical accounting guidance to our businesses
Collaborate with functional leads across the Interiors business to drive awareness and education around RTX/Collins Aerospace/Interiors policies and guidance
Lead all Interiors Accounting & Control Assessments in the Americas region and partner with colleagues on the same in our EMEA and APAC regions
Work with our business portfolios to complete quarter-end/year-end certifications and report to Interiors leadership for formal sign-off
Drive standard processes/best practice guidance across the business and work process improvement initiatives to continuously improve on these standards
Remotely manage and develop a team of two to provide SOX testing, controls monitoring, controls process training and adhoc projects
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
Experience should include time within an Internal Audit department or as an external auditor within a professional accountancy practice or as a compliance/controls lead
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience with PowerPoint
Finance leadership experience
Demonstrated experience working across multiple levels of leadership ranging from management to C-suite
