💰 $699,000/yr($373,000/yr – $699,000/yr)
About the role
Netflix is the world's leading streaming entertainment service, with over 230 million paid memberships in over 190 countries, enjoying TV series, documentaries, and feature films across various genres and languages. Members can watch or play as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, on any internet-connected screen.
The Opportunity Netflix’s recommendation systems are really good at finding the right content for our members. But as our catalog and member base become global and more diverse, we need more than content recommendations. Members need help choosing the right show/movie/game for that moment. The context we share about unfamiliar content helps our members make confident viewing choices.
We provide this context to members in various ways. We use personalization to find the best artwork and video trailers for a member. We also personalize other metadata - does this member care about actor/director information or the plot? What about games - what’s useful for members to know for a mobile game vs. a cloud game? If you’re interested, here is a high-level overview of what we do.
The team partners with a large set of cross-functional teams like Content Creative teams, ML researchers, Product Management, Product Design, Data Engineering, and many backend and client engineering teams. The team is responsible for offline systems that leverage continuous explore/exploit models to generate personalized asset and metadata recommendations. The team is also responsible for very high throughput, low latency systems that deliver personalized assets in real-time to Netflix UI clients. The team is directly involved in experimentation to continuously evolve the member experience and in developing experiences for new content types like Games and Live content.
The overall market range for roles in this area of Netflix is typically $373,000 - $699,000.
This market range is based on total compensation (vs. only base salary), which is in line with our compensation philosophy. Netflix is a unique culture and environment. Learn more here.
We are an equal opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversity of thought and background builds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.
