A Senior Business Process Analyst position is available with the City of Fort Worth Water Department – Strategic Operations SCADA Section. This section is responsible for strategic frameworks related to Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and overarching strategic analytics of the Water department’s facilities. This position will also help in promoting the Utility’s mission, vision and values through data acquisition, data processing and data publishing for the Water Department.
As the Senior Business Process Analyst, you will need to have a good working knowledge of principles and practices of planning, maintenance, troubleshooting, implementation of projects that require integration to existing SCADA, and contract administration of related projects for assigned area. The incumbent should be able to trouble-shoot complex SCADA systems, conduct extensive research and provide guidance to internal and external stakeholder groups. This position will report to the Fort Worth Water Department’s Strategic Operations SCADA Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business Administration, Public Administration, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- Five (5) or more years of business experience and business analysis experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of SCADA experience.
- Seven (7) years of experience in programming, operation and maintenance of plant electronic and computerized process control or SCADA systems in water and wastewater treatment plant.
- Experience working with Control Systems/SCADA integration projects.
- Experience with Ignition a plus.
- Municipal water/wastewater experience a plus.
The Senior Business Process Analyst job responsibilities include:
- Manage the successful implementation of the SCADA HMI Replacement project and integrate SCADA system into the new Ignition software. The project role requires planning, implementation, installation and commissioning of the software with an Integrator Contractor.
- Project management includes coordination/scheduling meetings, attending factory acceptance tests, review of SCADA submittals and deliverables, check hardware and communication requirements, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) interface requirements
- Operate and maintain the new Ignition system for data reliability and comprehensive data collection. Support the new system by applying robust cyber security best practices (on the system/application level), software and hardware troubleshooting, and day-to-day SCADA operation and maintenance.
- Continuously evaluate the SCADA system security measures, perform continuous testing to evaluate system performance, create ad-hoc reports and data request from other divisions, create new script/programs for system improvements and support system interface to and from the data lake.
- Lead SCADA system commissioning for all facilities, perform trainings to operators, oversee and coordinate a variety of duties related to SCADA, instrumentation, PLCs in the plant, Remote Telemetry Units (RTUs) in remote sites and other automated controls.
- Maintain good record of historical system implementation plus planning of the latest upgrades to assist with scheduled and unscheduled improvements and/or projects.
- Advanced skillset on latest SCADA platform, scripting language, secured network, cyber security, and server to client encryptions.
- Schedule and review SCADA/PLC tags mapping, communication settings, SCADA screens and database creations.
- Assure successful integration of new facilities into the existing SCADA architecture.
- Working knowledge of SCADA, PLC and OIT software and programming preferably in Ignition.
