Description
NAFSA: Association of International Educators is the world’s largest association of professionals committed exclusively to advancing international education and exchange. The association provides professional development and learning opportunities, promotes research and knowledge, and convenes conferences and collaborative dialogues.
The Strategic Partnerships & Development team leads NAFSA’s efforts to raise revenue in support of NAFSA’s mission.
Fall 2024 Intern Projects (September through Mid-December):
As a part of our team, you will engage in various projects and gain valuable experience in nonprofit development and strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and Research New Opportunities: Assist in pinpointing potential new donors or funding sources, conduct research to discover prospects for partnerships and funding, and investigate potential donors, strategic partners, markets, and industries to support development initiatives.
- Prepare Reports and Presentations: Compile and present findings to the Development team, aiding in strategic decision-making.
- Administrative Assistance: Provide essential administrative support to the Development team as needed.
- Preparation for Partner Interactions: Assist in preparing the Development team for calls and visits with major partners.
Compensation: $17.50/hour for up to 20 hours per week with opportunity for prorated holiday and retirement benefits, if eligible.

Requirements
The Ideal Candidate:
- Detail-oriented self-starter: take initiative and manage tasks efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: especially Excel and Word.
- Customer service experience: background in engaging with and supporting clients or customers.
- Tech-savvy: comfortable with Zoom, Canva and social media platforms.
- Excellent communication skills: strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest or knowledge in higher education, international education, social media, marketing, and project management.
- Experience conducting background research on individuals and organizations online.
- Experience working in Canva.

We welcome students with valid work authorization, including those wishing to complete their experiential learning through their established curricular practical training (CPT), optional practical training (OPT), or academic training eligibility.
