The team consists of AI Scientists, AI Engineers, and Technical Project Managers. </li> <li>Our role is to:  <ul> <li><strong>Design, build, and continuously improve customer-facing Intelligent Learning Capabilities</strong> across Pearson. </li> <li><strong>Provide technical leadership </strong>in the application of AI at Pearson. </li> </ul></li> <li>We specialise in a variety of intelligent capabilities:  <ul> <li><strong>Cutting edge applications of LLMs </strong>to create new kinds of learning experience </li> <li><strong>Adaptive modelling &amp; diagnostic capabilities </strong>that fast-track learners through a course of learning and identify struggling learners. </li> <li><strong>Natural language processing-based assessment capabilities </strong>that evaluate a learner's soft &amp; hard skills through text or speech. </li> </ul></li> <li>In our work, we often innovate around implementing psychometric ideas using the latest machine learning methods and prototyping innovative natural language processing methods. </li> <li><a href="https://www.facebook.com/Ai.Pearson.Poland/" target="_blank"><strong><u>We proudly support the Polish AI community</u></strong></a> by sponsoring conferences (ML in PL, Why R?, GHOST Day, Cloud &amp; Datacentre Day), hosting meetups with communities like Women in Machine Learning &amp; Data Science and Poznański Horyzont Danych, and hosting <a href="https://www.meetup.com/pl-PL/pearson-ai-tech/" target="_blank"><strong><u>our own series of open talks &amp; workshops</u></strong></a></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>About you &amp; skills that will help you to be successful in this role</strong> </p> <ul> <li>Proficient in developing transformer models using tools like PyTorch, Hugging Face, or PyTorch Lightning </li> <li>Expertise in Python, skilled in multiprocessing and API development </li> <li>Experienced in crafting systems with LLMs utilizing fine-tuning, methods such as RAG and advanced prompting techniques </li> <li>Solid understanding of state-of-the-art NLP technologies </li> <li>Knowledgeable in cloud platforms, particularly Azure and AWS, with an emphasis on their ML services </li> <li>Familiarity with MLOps practices and proficiency with Git and Linux </li> <li>Independence and ability to work with vaguely defined and evolving requirements </li> <li>Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly </li> <li>Working proficiency both in English and Polish </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Your daily work:</strong> </p> <ul> <li>Doing hands-on R&amp;D on AI systems. You'll focus on developing cutting-edge learning tools based on Generative AI models </li> <li>Sometimes, you'll explore new ideas or work on some proof-of-concept projects. </li> <li>Presenting findings and developments to both internal stakeholders and external audiences. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>This position is offered on a fixed-term contract basis as a maternity leave cover, spanning from May 2024 through December 2025. During this period, due to anticipated team expansion, there exists a possibility for the role to transition into a permanent contract, provided that the collaboration proves to be mutually satisfactory.
