Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. seeks a Vice President, Human Capital Mgmt & Corp Svcs in New York, NY
Plan, direct, and coordinate human resource activities and staff globally, partnering with regional HR partners. Work with Management Committee members, global business leaders, and employees to support the day-to-day needs of the client groups. Ensure proper support in all the steps of the "employees' life cycle". Provide oversight of the global HR processes such as 360/performance evaluation, promotion and compensation, and talent. Work with the HR Data team as required to produce compensation and promotion analytics. Ensure the creation and maintenance of consistent policies across the organization and work with appropriate partners when adjustments need to be made. Manage employee relations issues, including partnering with Employee Relations and/or Employment Law on internal investigations. Advise managers on the resolution of employee relations and performance management issues, provide coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution. Advise managers and employees on mobility and international transfer scenarios as required. Partner with the business and recruiting teams on campus and experienced candidate hiring strategy. Understand and apply applicable policies and approvals processes. Partner with the business, and learning and development to identify and execute on training and development opportunities. Partner with the business and with the Diversity and Inclusion Team to help drive the business' diversity agenda forward. Analyze Employee Engagement Survey results and collaborate with the business to advise on possible solutions or new initiatives. Ensure participation and HR representation in cross-divisional projects and committees, as well as participation in People Committees Engage in Adhoc projects.
Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $170,000 and $242,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Director, Vice President, Senior HR Advisor, HR Advisor, HR Assistant, or a closely related occupation. Requires five (5) years of experience with: supporting employees, managers, and leaders; providing advice and guidance to Management Committee members on the employee life cycle; negotiating and liaising for setting direction and building consensus when delivering on managed exits and Firm-wide reductions in force; acting as an escalation point, coach, and mentor to HR Shared Services team on complex employee matters; facilitating and influencing change by promoting, championing, and supporting organizational change with the rollout and adoption of new HR systems and technologies to clients; managing, maintaining, and analyzing people data and metrics to extract relevant themes and trends; devising and executing action plans to address identified themes and trends; communicating with regional HR and client counterparts on key HR or divisional initiatives and processes; project management including undertaking and delivering HR and business specific projects; complying with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommending best practices, and reviewing policies and practices to maintain compliance; handling sensitive employee relations cases, and employees in times of crisis; and participating in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
