Job Description

Dynamic, Entrepreneurial Marketing Consulting Company is seeking a Data Science Engineer to support our Fortune 100 client, a global provider of healthcare and retail pharmacy services, in building industry-leading analytics, data, and technology platforms to help reimagine health care.  This position will play a critical role within a cross-functional team, delivering powerful solutions.

This is a technical position that will involve gathering requirements, preparing documentation, combining data from multiple sources, and producing customer-facing analytics results.

• Location: Remote, Central Time (Chicago area preferred)
• Duration: 12-month contract-to-hire

What you’ll do:

• The individual will be responsible for running algorithms, delivering price recommendations, bookkeeping, and creating monthly and ad-hoc reports.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Prepare documentation such as process diagrams, data dictionaries, file specifications, ERDs, wireframes, and pseudocode.
• Make recommendations about data management processes, metric definitions, and evaluation methods.
• Perform analyses in a relational database environment, including development of SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
• Develop customer-facing dashboards by modeling and aggregating data from multiple databases, source systems, and servers.
• Perform extensive verification and validation testing to ensure results meet functional requirements and stakeholder needs.
• Design and conduct analyses using healthcare claims and services data.

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of industry experience as a Data Scientist
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, engineering, or another STEM field
• Must be an effective communicator of results.
• Curiosity about optimization methods and results
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and participate as a team player.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to nontechnical clients in written and verbal form.
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities and multiple projects concurrently.

Technical Competencies:

• SQL
• Python
• Cloud infrastructures (GCP or AWS)
• Version control solutions (Gitlab)
• MS Excel

Familiarity with:

• Tableau
• Issue tracking tools (Rally, Jira, etc.)
• Linear programming

The starting pay range for this role is $35.00 - $40.00 per hour. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, training, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range and determining factors for compensation are considered for each individual circumstance.
