Mental Health Recovery Specialists (MHRS) is seeking a therapist trained in EMDR to treat clients with trauma. The position entails providing a combination of utilizing EMDR as well as top down behavioral modalities. In addition, this position will entail the ability to work with clients who have commonly co-occurring mental health conditions. An external biweekly EMDR consultation group will be fully covered by MHRS for this position!
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide in-person and virtual psychotherapy, utilizing EMDR when appropriate.
  • Complete in-house CBT and DBT training if not pre-trained
  • Proper documentation of all services rendered in a timely manner
  • Communicate with clients’ Care Coordinators and other Recovery Specialists as needed
  • Continually assess clients’ progress and level of care, update treatment plans, and complete transition/discharge plans when indicated.
  • Communicate with clients’ external providers or supports as indicated
  • Keep availability sheet and caseload tracker up to date as required
  • Attend bi-weekly supervision 1:1 with Clinical Director
  • Attend biweekly team meeting

Requirements Related to Schedule and Structure of Position:
  • Complete weekly tracking sheet at the end of each week to communicate availability
  • Attend bi-weekly supervision 1:1 with Clinical Director
  • Attend weekly team meeting
  • Will provide staff info on Psychology Today and website
  • Must be available to work in-person from our New York office as needed, and ideally have availability on weeknights and/or weekends.
  • Must be available to have at least 50% of work in person if local to NYC.
Qualifications:
  • Masters degree required
  • EMDR trained required
  • Organized, reliable, responsive, and detail-oriented. Enjoys autonomous work.
  • A private location when working remotely with stable internet access and ability to come into the office for in-person work if/when needed.
