GTA Manager Experience (web) in my.walmart.com is a strategic initiative for FY26. We are aiming to complete a modernized manager web experience by Q3, enabling us to decommission the legacy GTA Portal and fully transition Workbrain into a headless architecture. We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to actively contribute to the delivery of this modern React-based experience for Walmart's U.S. store and facility managers.

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with solid experience in full-stack development to help deliver high-quality, scalable applications. This role is ideal for an engineer ready to work on complex, high-impact systems, with a strong focus on implementation, testing, and collaboration.

As a Senior Engineer on the Wellbeing/GTA team, you’ll build critical components of Walmart's associate-facing applications used by millions. You'll work within a cross-functional team to modernize legacy systems and integrate next-gen capabilities, including containerized web/mobile experiences and GenAI-driven enhancements.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute to the development of performant, secure, and scalable applications using React, Node.js, and Typescript.

  • Build and maintain features in a shared React Native container that supports both web and mobile platforms.

  • Migrate existing workflows from the legacy GTA Portal to a modern architecture with feature parity and improved UX.

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and QA to build high-impact features and solve technical problems.

  • Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and Agile ceremonies.

  • Support testing, deployment, and monitoring of new functionality.

  • Implement automation and CI/CD best practices for faster, safer releases.

  • Contribute to the integration of GenAI features such as intelligent suggestions and productivity tooling.

  • Participate in on-call rotations as needed to support production environments.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development.

  • Proficiency in JavaScript/Typescript and frameworks such as React and Node.js.

  • Familiarity with React Native and building cross-platform applications.

  • Experience working in modern DevOps environments (CI/CD, Git, containers, etc.).

  • Understanding of frontend/backend design patterns and web performance optimization.

  • Exposure to cloud-based architectures (Azure, GCP, or AWS preferred).

  • Experience contributing to system migrations or modernizations is a plus.

  • Willingness to learn and contribute to emerging technologies like GenAI.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
