Job Description
Team: The Powertrain System & Advanced Engineering department is responsible for mechatronic and control system development involving combustion engine, hybrid, electric, and fuel cell vehicles. We work with vehicle manufacturers and internal business groups to industrialize proof-of-concepts for advanced powertrain systems.
This internship will support US regulation analysis & vehicle requirements evaluation to help guide powertrain development for conventional, fuel cell, and xEV applications. In addition to your technical expertise, we are looking for future engineers who can clearly and simply communicate complex technical concepts, and who can effectively collaborate with a global team. You will:
- Leverage large datasets to help understand real-world vehicle utilization in the US
- Support large dataset processing, including data re-sampling and re-generation
- Help define data-driven use-cases and user demands that represent how powertrains are used by drivers in the US
- Statistically compare real-world data and test data
- Support analysis of the impact of real-world usage on future electrification trends
- Select and apply appropriate statistical & computing methods to large-scale data
- Generate insights by processing & visualizing large datasets
- Share knowledge by clearly articulating work and ideas to customers, managers, and key decision makers
- Provide feedback and escalate any issues in a timely manner to the team
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in Data science, Statistics, Engineering or related technical field with at least one semester completed.
- Data science programming experience in one or more of Python, SQL and R
- Proficient in processing and visualizing large datasets in Matlab or Python. Must be able to share portfolio or sample projects that showcase data processing & visualization competency.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Minimum 18 years of age
Additional Preferred Skills and Background:
- Experience with machine learning and implementation
- Working knowledge of automotive systems
