SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range for this role is $93,000 to $110,000 / year. This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.
SUMMARY
Quality Engineer III is an experienced level position requiring a minimum of 5 years in one or more of the following areas: Electronic Components, Battery Assemblies, Configuration Management, Supplier Management, Audits, Inspection techniques (non-destructive, electronics, mechanical), or Manufacturing processes and APQP. Responsibilities include designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems/control plans, Process FMEA and determining corrective actions. Conducting CPK/PPK Statistical Studies, knowledge of AS 9100 Standard and or ISO 9001 Standard. Reviews Supplier First Article submissions
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
- Performs inspections and sets quality assurance testing models for analysis of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products.
- Performs In process audits to AS 9100 Standard.
- Develop Quality Control Plans for Fuel Cell and Battery Assemblies.
- Develops & Implements quality control policies and evaluates production limitations.
- Developing and implementing new or revised quality and control standards.
- Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
- Coordinates & assists with internal and external audits acting as primary point of contact.
- Participate in Root Cause and Corrective Action process through full life cycle.
- Conducts Process Capability Studies.
- In conjunction with the Quality Manager, collaborates with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements.
- Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.
- Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues.
- Implements and monitors corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
- Supports and Conducts Gage R&R studies.
The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:
- 4 yr Degree in Quality, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electronics or Engineering.
- 5+ years progressive experience in a QE role.
- Previous responsibility with supporting design, set-up and implementation of a QMS System.
- Understanding and experience in aerospace standards AS9100 &/or ISO-9001, and its general practices.
- Extensive Experience with SPC Charts, Data Collection for Capability Studies.
- Strong Problem-Solving Skills.
- Familiarity with calibration processes and documentation.
- Gage R&R experience.
- Excellent internal and external Customer interface/communication skills.
- Demonstrated collaboration skills & ability to get things done through influence.
- Proven ability to lead projects that are complex in nature.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge of GSE systems and general associated equipment.
- ASQ CQE or Higher
- Knowledge of Hybrid or Standard Battery Construction and Assembly
