Job Description

What you'll be doing:

• Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure for applications at Wish
• Lead technical efforts in minimizing technical debt and toil
• Work collaboratively with peers, leadership, technical program managers, and other teams on implementations and performance tuning
• Identify faults and risks to improve system health and propose solutions, test, and work with others to manage rollouts
• Provide on-going maintenance and support of internal tools, improve system health and reliability
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide application support, incident management, and troubleshooting
• Evangelize SRE fundamentals within the team and to the rest of Engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Computer Science or Engineering related field or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years of Linux systems administration experience; expert Linux operation knowledge.
• Advanced proficiency with application-supporting network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, SSL, and certificates)
• Knowledge of database technologies at scale and basic DBA skills (Mongo, Postgres, MySQL)
• Knowledgeable in modern configuration management tools (Terraform, Salt, Ansible, Fabric, etc.)
• Strong proficiency with one or more programming languages. Python or Go preferred
• Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (Amazon AWS, Google Cloud Platform)
• Experience with Linux containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Experience with application deployment infrastructure (code repo + CI/CD)
• Practical written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks, initiate and support team efforts, and work independently

• Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledgeable in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
• Advanced Linux process and resource management (fork versus exec; for example)
• Experience with AWS-specific infrastructure components (ALB, ELB, Security Groups, VPC routing tables, S3)
• Experience using Terraform to configure cloud infrastructure
• Experience with in-memory databases (Memcached, Redis, ElastiCache), service discovery, and service mesh (Consul, Envoy, Istio)
• Experience with Gitlab and/or GitHub
• Configuration experience with CDNs (Akamai, CloudFront, CloudFlare)
• Configuration experience with monitoring and alerting systems (Prometheus, Datadog, Alert Manager, PagerDuty)
• Demonstrated rigor in addressing repeating operational or process issues

The estimated base salary range for this position varies by the candidate's location as follows:

• Candidates located in California: $178,000 - $241,000 annually
• Candidates located in New York and Washington: $201,000 – $241,000 annually
• Candidates located in Colorado: $155,000 - $186,000 annually
• For states not listed, the estimated base salary range for this position starts around $155,000 annually

Please note that individual total compensation for this position will be determined at the Company's sole discretion and may vary based on several factors, including but not limited to, location, skill level, years and depth of relevant experience, qualifications and other business considerations.
