Dates of work: June 4th to July 18th. 
The sports calendars vary depending on the sport and season. 

 

Primary Objective

Responsible for providing sport related curriculum and instruction at the Extended Learning and
Community Schools (ELCS) Sports Summer Camp. Ensures skill development of all students, while
working with Summer Camp Facilitator to support student Athletes with the offered activities and drills.
Responsible for developing daily plans and curriculum for one sport (e.g., soccer, flag football, basketball,
etc.).

Key Responsibilities

• Day to day execution: provides various support and conducts activities related to logistics, reporting, training, communications, and processes. Participates in the planning and implementation of new initiative.
• Problem solving: assesses and troubleshoots escalated problems and applies expert understanding to resolve complex challenges of stakeholders; focuses on root cause identification in order to achieve systemic and sustainable improvement. Approves and documents exceptions for compliance record keeping and reporting.
• Collaboration: ensures appropriate key stakeholder involvement in planning, goal-setting, and implementation to achieve buy-in of work products. Ensures purposeful, positive and professional interactions and relationships with all stakeholders; enables consistent application of work products across the district.
• Continuous improvement: identifies opportunities for improvement, prioritizes, and recommends solutions to management. Implements approved enhancements to ensure consistency across the district. identifies opportunities to reduce costs; analyzes available data, trends, and feedback, and ensures compliance with expectations for optimal operation and goal achievement.

Description

• Creates daily plans and curriculum pertaining to designated sport(s); evaluates and updates instructional materials as necessary
• Prepares pre and post skill development tests/evaluations, and promotes exceptional sportsmanship
• Provides skill and development instruction in assigned sport(s)
• Provides guidance and expectations to camp facilitators regularly and support for day-to-day program operations as needed
• Ensures upkeep and working condition of all camp areas and equipment
• Work with camp staff on student recruitment and retention

Education-Minimum

• High School Diploma/GED

Experience

• 1+ year(s) Sports curriculum and instruction experience in the specified sport(s) offering 
• Must be CPR certified before start of cam; Must be 18 years of age or older and have reliable transportation

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Add additional KSAs as needed

• Knowledge with Microsoft Office products including Google Suite
• Effective time management and organizational skills and ability to multitask
• Effective communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to deliver high quality instruction
