Role Summary: The Shop Floor Planning position is critical to the success of our operations, serving as a linchpin between various departments to ensure seamless coordination and efficient production processes. This pivotal role entails overseeing the entirety of shop floor scheduling operations, maximizing production capacity, and promptly addressing any unforeseen challenges that may arise.
Work hours: Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm.
Location: Springville, UT.
Responsibilities:
· Quoting accurate lead times for components.
· Running and maintaining MRP/Workbench/Consumption in ERP.
· Component scheduling based on valve orders, customer need and availability of materials.
· Schedule adherence. Adjusting schedules of components to create a workable plan. Also rescheduling as needed for orders with issues or capacity constraints so notification is given to Order Entry / Project Managers.
· Coordinate with manufacturing concerning capacity, balancing load, and priority.
· Work directly with Master Scheduling and machine shop to align schedules and address issues quickly.
· Work directly with purchasing for buy items and purchasing exceptions.
· Work with ENG and MFE on creation of parts, routings, and adjustments.
· Review valve backlog weekly with OE and Project managers in Ship and hold.
· Assisting shop floor to:
o Cut work orders for shortages and scrap parts as needed and assist MFE with orders as needed.
o Notify supply chain of shortages and time requirements/urgency.
o Be aware of expedited orders for shutdowns, and turnarounds, in order to schedule components as priority on the shop floor.
o Identify components to outsource if the shop is over capacity.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- +5 years' experience in shop floor planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiar with machine processes, machine functions and operations, scheduling orders with shops.
- Fluency and proficiency in the practical application of MRP logic, scheduling logic, order policies, capacity planning, input/output control, product structures, routings, and standards maintenance.
- Knowledgeable in master scheduling, production planning and detailed scheduling, demand management, purchasing, and cost accounting techniques.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and organizational skills required with the ability to work well with all levels of employees and internal departments in a diverse environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
