About the role
EMPLOYER: CrossCountry Consulting LLC JOB TITLE: Managing Consultant JOB LOCATION: 1600 Tysons Blvd, Ste 1100, McLean VA, 22102 (and various unanticipated locations across the US) JOB DESCRIPTION: · Organizing and interpreting large unstructured financial information and determine appropriate accounting treatment in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or US Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (US GAAP). · Reviewing results of a newly implemented financial accounting system for discrepancies and reconcile differences in order to develop and implement resolutions to complex accounting issues. · Implementing new accounting standards such as Revenue Accounting, Credit Losses and Leasing required by client’s in highly regulated environments such as financial services or multicountry operations. · Documenting findings of study of financial reporting processes and prepare recommendations for implementation or improvements of procedures. · Developing, implementing, and documenting recordkeeping and accounting systems, as well as internal controls, to assure compliance in highly regulated environments. · Reviewing of complex financial information with a view to providing in depth analyses to be presented to client personnel at senior management level. · Responsible for ensuring project deliverables are of the highest quality and meet all requirements in significantly regulated environments such as banking and other financial services. · Developing project management documentation (e.g. budget analysis, communications documentation) in support of project execution and provide on-the-job training for team members.
Job Requirements
- JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce, or related field and 5 years of experience in financial consulting and accounting advisory industry.
- Experience with large scale data aggregation and analysis using various systems needed for financial reporting including at least two of the following: SAP ERP, Oracle, Microsoft dynamics 365 Finance and NetSuite.
- Experience with new accounting guidance and auditing approaches, including changes in accounting standards, ISA’s, IAS’s, and IFRS’s.
- Experience with accounting guidance and standards as set by FASB, AICPA and SEC.
- Preparing audited financial statements using IFRS and GAAP.
- Experience with or knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements relevant to various industries including at least two of the following: Insurance, Investment Management, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Real Estate and Technology.
- Provide Risk management services, including Sarbanes-Oxley, segregation of duties, and governance frameworks.
- Consulting on strategic projects for financial services clients in highly regulated industries including at least two of the following: Insurance, Investment Management, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Real Estate and Technology.
