We are seeking a professional like you to join our team as the key responsible for the strategic and operational portfolio comprising key products Butanediol (BDO) and derivatives (GBL, NMP) as well as Acetylene, and By-products.

Reporting to the Business Director and working from our Houston office, you will be the key marketing and technical interface to sales, customer care, supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, product stewardship and legal in North America (US, Mexico, Canada). You will be an active team player with excellent communication skills. Your drive and ambition will allow you to grow the product portfolio from currently ca. $110M sales. The portfolio is comprised of products from our North American production site at Geismar, LA. The role is accountable for achieving the regional Strategic Business Unit (SBU) targets relative to implementing the Global strategy, financial performance, and operational priorities including tactical implementation of pricing models, portfolio management, working capital plans and capital project support.

 

As a Regional Product Manager - Butanediol and Derivatives, you create chemistry by...

 

  • Thinking strategically, you will be responsible for regional development, implementation, and management of global commercial strategies for product portfolio; i.e. product positioning and business plan development and execution. 
  • Owning responsibility for product pricing and margin management; i.e. pricing strategy, applied pricing models, costs analysis, and budget planning. Utilizing your solid business and financial acumen, as well as analytical and problem-solving skills. You will also represent North American interest in global SBU teams; including Sales and Operation Planning (S&OP), Global SBU business meetings, Global Strategy Development, Global Contract Boards, and Product Life Cycle/Marketing Teams.
  • Using your excellent interpersonal communication skills, including: negotiation, influencing, presentation, reporting, and relationship building to guide the sales force relative to product pricing and positioning, contract negotiations, competitive/market information, crisis management, customer/product action plans, and customer communications to align with the business/product strategies.
  • Utilizing your deep knowledge of value chains in markets served by the chemical industry to understand the regional market structure’s economics, market driver, growth, trends, opportunities, value chain, customers and competitive environment.
  • Utilizing your strong customer focus, you will ensure the organization’s continued success at Key Accounts by solidifying the business relationship with the management team of customer’s Purchasing organizations.
  • Increasing efficiency, you will actively drive continuous improvements of cost, production, quality, supply chain, and service levels focused on competitiveness, financial performance, and operational excellence.
  • Following up on new leads and opportunities, prioritize projects and commercialize projects to bring new sales each year.

If you have...

 

  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry or closely related fields Industry experience, of which 5 years should be in Operations, Sales or Product Management.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain principles and systems.
  • Solid business and financial acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills including: negotiation, influencing, presentation, reporting, and relationship building.
  • Focus on increasing efficiency and driving continuous improvements.
