Summary of duties: Focus on using technology to innovate and solve complex problems. Utilize cloud capabilities within BlackRock’s asset management platform to tackle large scale challenges. Run platforms in the cloud with respect to security, cost, performance, and complexity. Maintain a consistent track record for resolving firm's most challenging software problems in a scalable, resilient, and secure manner. Coordinate automation around provisioning, monitoring, and updating cloud infrastructure. Adapt BlackRock’s software platform to make efficient use of the cloud. Improve architecture using cloud and cloud-native technologies. Build highly available, performant, and secure systems that clients can trust.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and six (6) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in the above listed fields and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Requires six (6) years of experience in the following skills (with Bachelor's degree): Developing and deploying software using Microsoft Azure DevOps throughout the software lifecycle; Implementing relational and distributed databases, such as Azure CosmosDB and Cassandra, for software application development; Maintaining and enhancing infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure as Code tooling and Azure Resource Manager; Developing software using Python and Java, while utilizing operating systems like Linux; Leveraging containers to deploy software and ran using container orchestration tools; and Partnering with other developers to design scalable systems. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in the above listed fields and four (4) years of experience in the above listed skills.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $204,000 - $214,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
