Quality Engineer 
 

 

We are looking for a Quality Engineer for our Wixom, MI facility. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the Production Manager in driving quality activities within the production facility. Through the use and knowledge of the ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, Quality Tools, and Oerlikon Balzers Standards, the Quality Engineer ensures that quality problems are effectively addressed and that quality standards are being implemented and adhered to within the production facility.

 

Your Responsibilities:

• Maintain the ISO 9001 system to ensure compliance with global, national and local requirements
• Drive corrective and preventive actions using KPI inputs with a focus on effective root-cause analysis
• Perform product/process/internal audits
• Perform MSA
• Participate in the analysis and disposition of non-conforming products as required
• Support quality planning process
• Provide product quality analysis via various testing methodologies
• Manage Quality System documentation
• Daily, weekly and yearly gauge verification/calibration
• Reporting of quality system status/key process indicators
• Train production personnel in quality system requirements, processes, and procedures as required
• Support team in driving the continuous improvement projects

Your Profile:

• Minimum 4-year degree in Quality, Engineering, or related discipline
• Advanced education desirable; experience may substitute
• Proven experience with Quality Core Tools
• 2+ years of experience in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing and/or production environment preferred
• 2+ years of experience implementing and executing ISO 9001:2015
• Ability to effectively use problem-solving tools such as Pareto Charts, SPC methodologies, cause and effect diagrams as well as 8D or similar problem-solving experience
• Action oriented individual who drives for results in managing QMS
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with strong presentation and team-building skills
• Strong, self-motivated, independent thinker
• Proficient using MS Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access) is required
• Experience with APQP/PPAP disciplines would be considered an asset
• Professional certification in quality disciplines (ASQ Certified quality Engineer) would be considered an asset
