The Job:
Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM) is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace. We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments. As a Quality Engineer working onsite, you will provide experienced quality support to product manufacturing, resolving defects and other issues and ensuring the product meets customer specifications.
You’ll get to:
- Ensure product conformity across all the Value Streams in the Manchester and Columbia facilities.
- Facilitate investigations of customer complaints or returns (validate, document root cause analysis, follow-up, confirmation of improvement etc.)
- Coordinate MRB activity of cross-functional team driving internal and supplier continuous improvement opportunities, root cause/ corrective action (RCCA), COPQ reduction, etc.
- Manage RCCA activity with internal and external (supplier) representatives, applying all Lean/QC Tools (Kaizen, 5-Why, 8D etc.) as appropriate to drive COPQ reduction.
- Lead effort to leverage new technology and improve product quality, QA productivity, and reduce dependency on manual layout of parts.
- New product planning & execution, Contract review, tracking and validation. As needed support FAIR, PPAR, and PFMEA activities.
- Work together with relevant teams and departments to improve product quality and reduce scrap.
- Prepare reports on QMS performance and related to the product quality management process
- Standardize and update the Company's quality standards, processes and Work instructions as needed.
- Become proficient in ETQ and PQP to facilitate transition to these programs and initiatives.
- Conduct inspection activity and train other inspectors as needed to support the business
- Develop and implement quality standards/ practices for inspection, testing, and product/ process evaluation.
- Participate in contract review of customer purchase orders and ensure compliance with QMS and customer requirements.
- Partner with other functions to ensure continuous improvement in product and process efficiencies by prioritizing and reducing costs associated with defects, escapes, rework, and scrap
- Establish and supervise statistical process control (SPC) system for process monitoring.
- Support QMS maintenance (AS9100, AS9101, AS9102, AS9103, AS13100, AS9145, FAA, EASA, NADCAP, etc.)
- Support the Quality Inspection function to ensure products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system
- Other duties assigned by Quality Manager or as required in support of Quality Assurance

- Minimum Associate's Degree with relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 4+ years of prior relevant experience (Aerospace manufacturing quality roles).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Experience with Quality standards including AS9100D, ISO9001:2015
- Experience in Root Cause Problem-solving/ Root Cause-Corrective Action (RCCA)
- Experience in data and trend analysis
- Able to communicate and make presentations to senior site leadership
- Experience with xTuple and/or other ERP systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite- Excel, PPT, Word
- Preferred: Military and Commercial experience, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE Certification), Designated Quality Representative, and Certified Manager of Quality/Operational Excellence (CMQ/OE Certification).
