Principal Engineer - .NET Core / GenAI

<p><b>About this role:</b></p><p>Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer responsible for end-to-end technical architecture, design governance, and engineering leadership for cloud native platforms and performance testing capabilities.</p><p>This role defines target state architectures, drives technology strategy, and acts as the technical authority across different teams in the Line of business.</p><p></p><p><b>In this role, you will:</b></p><ul><li><span>Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups</span></li><li><span>Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking</span></li><li><span>Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions</span></li><li><span>Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions</span></li><li><span>Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization</span></li><li><span>Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Required Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li><span>7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Desired Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li><span><b>15+ years </b>of technology development and strategy experience in Full Stack development with hands on coding experience with <b>.NET Core</b></span></li><li><span>Should possess good knowledge of UI Framework like <b>React / Angular</b></span></li><li><span>Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python is added advantage</span></li><li>Proven experience architecting and building <b>AI–powered solutions</b>, including <b>LLM integration, prompt engineering, RAG patterns, model orchestration, AI pipelines, and responsible AI practices.</b></li><li><h3>Strong understanding of <b>GenAI trends, ecosystem evolution, and emerging capabilities</b>, with the ability to assess vendor offerings versus build strategies.</h3></li><li>Experience embedding AI into core business workflows to drive <b>productivity, risk reduction, customer experience, and operational efficiency</b>.</li><li>Passion for experimentation, rapid prototyping, and data‑driven decision‑making.</li><li><h3>Should be strong at Web and WCF services</h3></li><li><span>Experience in Event driven architecture using Kafka Event Streaming</span></li><li><span>Familiarity with REST API development and related tools (e.g. Postman, swagger) </span></li><li><span>Build Unit Tests using XUnit and Automation Tests using Selenium, C#</span></li><li><span>Strong <span>JavaScript/Typescript</span> and Advance JS proficiency and responsive design knowledge (HTML5, CSS3, SASS, Bootstrap) </span></li><li><span>Experience working with Oracle or SQL Server databases with ability to write Medium/complex queries</span></li><li><span>Hands on experience adopting and implementing engineering practices such as TDD, BDD, Developer lead functional automation, Automated deployment</span></li><li><span>Experience integrating front-end with back-end services.</span></li><li><span>Should have good knowledge of DevOps Processes and tools.</span></li><li><span>Strong verbal and written communication skills</span></li><li><span>Strong work experience in Agile/Scrum methodology</span></li><li><span>Ability to work independently with all stakeholders under minimal supervision</span></li><li><span>should be flexible about work hours to provide better overlap with the US team</span></li><li><span>Proven track record of leading large scale complex projects and influencing cross-functional teams.</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Job Expectations:</b></p><p><b>Technology Leadership</b></p><ul><li><span>Define and execute the strategic vision for the CIB Lending portfolio,</span></li><li><span>Provide technical expertise in building scalable, high performance and cost-efficient data solutions</span></li><li><span>Stay ahead of industry trends and evaluate emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.</span></li><li><span>Incorporate feedback loops to continuously improve processes and identify bottl
