Job Description

RRD is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic & motivated student to join our team in St. Charles, IL next Summer as a Network Engineer Intern! 

***THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION***

Job Summary

We have an extensive customer base across industries in virtually every private and public sector, an unmatched portfolio of capabilities, a proven management team and the financial flexibility allowing investments in innovative technologies and growth opportunities to meet communications challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Standardize consistently the SNMP configurations to RRD’s standard/best practices access mechanism
• Audit network devices remote access capability and convert any Telnet to SSH.
• Assist in the implementation of solutions following IT standards and senior engineer designs for corporate WAN/LAN implementation throughout the US and Canada.
• Execute/perform configuration changes and coordinate installations with senior engineers, site contacts and vendors.
• Configuring basic Cisco routers and switches
• Must be available during the whole summer term

Qualifications

• The intern candidate should be a full-time student at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor or higher degree in IT or engineering related field.
• Must have a good working knowledge of, Windows, Office and Visio.
• Some basic networking background
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Good interpersonal and team skills.
• Positive attitude and outstanding customer service orientation.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.

Plus:

• Took few networking and security classes in colleges or university.

Additional Information

The rate of pay for this role at the noted location is $24.00 / hour. In addition to base pay, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
