Senior Software Development Engineer

What does a successful Senior Software Development Engineer do at Fiserv?

You will bring an open and creative mindset to developing our clients' solutions. You will work collaboratively and have experience in a range of technologies. Youi will help define solution architecture plus have the tenacity and attention to detail to work through complex problems.  Work in our environment of modern APIs, micro-services, third-party integrations, and cloud infrastructure. You will interact with clients of leading financial institutions, product managers, and software engineers to envision, design, and build innovative produce and technology solutions supporting large scale solutions. You will be part of an Agile team involved in designing, developing, testing and deploying APIs and microservices in cloud-native technologies.

What you will do:

• Act as a hands-on development lead of a scrum team and be involved in full life cycle development, design, architecture, coding, development, testing, some production support
• Utilize your hands-on experience in Java, Microservices, and web services development to develop and support applications through the SDLC
• Develop the CI/CD pipeline, test automation framework, and automate build and deployment processes
• Collaborate with internal teams and product partners to build and deliver world-class software
• Support aspects of security scans, PII data masking, and data encryption processes as part of development and design
• Install code changes and identify root-cause analysis. Ensure code is well structured, maintainable, and of high quality

What you will need to have: 

• 6-10+ years of experience with Object Oriented Programming using modern Java tech stack with Java 8 or above
• 5+ years of experience with web services and related microservice technologies
• 5+ years of experience developing Restful APIs and API integration
• 5+ years of experience with Docker/Kubernetes and Jenkins/Harness/GitHub
• 5+ years of experience with application security involving AAA (Authentication, Authorization and Auditing) and security patterns like AUTH2.0, JWT/JWS
• 5+ years of experience in full software development life cycle using agile methodologies
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and military experience

What would be great to have:

• Knowledge of payments domain
• Knowledge of and experience with JIRA and Confluence products.
• Prior technical lead role experience.
• Experience with PL/SQL and Oracle/PostgreSQL
• Code profiling
• Database experience with Oracle and ability to write complex SQL queries
