THE ROLE

Assistant Store Manager, Retail – Schottenstein Center

The Assistant Store Manager, Retail is responsible for the overall operation of the 365-day merchandise store. The Assistant Store Manager, Retail provides excellent customer service and looks for creative ways to operate effectively and efficiently. The Assistant Store Manager, Retail reports to the Store Manager and is based out of the Schottenstein Center, Columbus OH.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with game day concourse and daily retail operations
  • Assist with store sets and product levels in the main Team Shop and other on-campus locations, detail oriented
  • Assist with month end physical inventories, variances/inventory control
  • Assist with game day and non-game day staffing needs
  • Maintain knowledge of current and upcoming merchandise, sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges
  • Assist in weekly inventory replenishment, counting and restocking merchandise
  • Complete opening/closing procedures in regard to opening/closing of the main Team Shop
  • Train/coach new associates, ability to delegate daily tasks
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Store Manager
  • Adhere to all security, control and safety procedures set by Legends and the Schottenstein Center

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
  • 2-4 years of retail experience, leading others in a retail environment required
  • Ability to work 30-40hrs a week
  • Can be trusted to act in a manner that is truthful and values direct, honest communication at all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills; can effectively communicate and relate to all levels within and outside the organization; creates and builds positive and productive relationships
  • Responds quickly and effectively to changing trends and circumstances; embraces change and welcomes fresh perspectives
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time on a daily basis
  • Ability to manage appropriate steps to get projects completed; has strong abilities to organize people and processes; can create a plan for resourceful workflow
  • Can manage people and resources to get projects completed; has a strong ability to multi-task
  • Must have computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Flexibility to work all events, including: extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
