Job Summary
At Tokio Marine HCC, the Senior Configuration Analyst will work closely with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to support and enhance enterprise applications used for insurance agency management. This role involves performing complex configuration updates, maintaining detailed system documentation, and providing advanced production support and release activities. The Senior Configuration Analyst is expected to be a subject matter expert of our TMHCC systems and mentor junior analysts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the configuration of new and existing products on TMHCC applications.
- Author and debug advanced business rules using a rules engine (BRMS).
- Develop and maintain complex Excel spreadsheets, including advanced formulas, data references, and VBA code.
- Handle Level II escalations from Helpdesk requiring in-depth forensics and troubleshooting of TMHCC applications and products.
- Provide regular status updates and progress reports to project team members and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business users to understand and translate business requirements into robust system solutions.
- Mentor and provide guidance to configuration analysts and team members, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
- Lead team projects, ensuring that objectives are met on time and to a high standard.
- Develop training programs and materials to enhance team skills and system knowledge.
- Enhance the quality of work by developing and implementing methods to thoroughly test configurations and changes before they go live.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase the efficiency and consistency of product updates delivered by the configuration team.
- Drive the configuration team to deliver more frequent and reliable product updates through improved processes and resource management.
Education
Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in computer science or related field.
Experience
5 Years of related work experience is required. A minimum of three years’ experience as an online service representative or related position in a business environment.
- Expert knowledge of SQL and a strong understanding of web services.
- Proficiency in JSON; experience with enterprise Rules Engines such as InRule, Drools, or Red Hat Decision Manager is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to quickly master new systems and technologies, becoming a subject matter expert.
- Strong written communication skills for creating training documentation and clearly describing issues for IT escalation.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks independently and manage workloads to meet Service Level Agreements.
- Extensive experience in application configuration, documentation, and support.
- Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing business priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) with experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Fundamental knowledge of programming concepts.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Capability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in team management and project coordination.
- Strong mentoring capabilities to develop junior team members and foster a collaborative work environment.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the following location, the reasonable pay range for this specific position is Encino, CA, $109,600 - $137,000 annually.
