Job Description
This position will work on a hybrid model out of our Santa Monica or Chicago offices.
Wilshire seeks an Associate or Senior Associate to be responsible for supporting the activities of Wilshire’s Business Development team in the sales of various alternative investment offerings and advisory services. The primary focus will be on prospect qualification and research, pre-sales activity and sales campaigns designed to create opportunities with corporate and public plans, non-profits, insurance companies, and other institutional investors. There will be extensive use of prospecting databases in order to produce and hone lists of potential prospects. The position also includes management of sales campaigns including participation in sales calls, documenting and assisting in follow-ups, creation of marketing materials, and pipeline management. This position reports to the Global Head of Sales.
What you’ll do:
- The role will focus primarily on North American institutional investors in alternative investments
- Utilize prospecting databases to create lists of targeted prospective clients based on highly specific criteria
- Coordinate the outreach to Wilshire executives to identify connections within target lists and hone/prioritize prospects
- Assist in the creation and dissemination of marketing and other supporting collateral used in the sales process
- Act as the primary recordkeeper of the sales process from opening the door to closing the sale, helping to coordinate the necessary business development and investment team resources along the way
- Demonstrate success working independently with proven initiative and ability to prioritize work to appropriately support sales opportunities
- Maintaining sales activities and new business pipeline in CRM
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of investment management, financial services, or sales experience
- The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can manage and prioritize a wide number of tasks and projects
- Familiarity with private equity, private credit and other alternatives is required as it is imperative that this individual be familiar with the unique aspects of private investments
- Experience handling large amounts of data that requires extensive formatting and manipulation
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Have experience utilizing prospect databases such as Preqin, Dakota, FIN Searches, eVestment, ZoomInfo
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including composing direct outreach to potential customers

The pay range for this position is $95,000-$105,000/year. However, base pay will be determined on an individual basis considering various factors, including location, qualifications, skills, and experience. The total compensation package includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus and a full range of health and financial benefit offerings, which will be provided in conjunction with an offer of employment.
