What You Will Do:  

  • Assigns, coordinates, and oversees work activity of the team with direction from management. Matches employee skills with work assignments and schedules work by employee and shift.

  • Reviews all team work and documentation for completion and correctness

  • Provides subject matter expertise to process and plant engineers on technical matters

  • Collaborates with production team members to ensure planned or preventative maintenance activities and installations result in minimal disruption to production activities

  • Coordinates team rotation schedules and manages external contractors such as boiler support services

  • Manages and updates equipment in computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)

  • Responsible for periodic fixed asset inventory management auditing

  • Coordinates acquisition and management of spare parts, supplies, and equipment

  • Proactively identifies and takes appropriate action to improve equipment efficiency and implement cost savings initiatives

  • Manages mechanical troubleshooting and repair of all production, building equipment and ground utilities. Coordinates regularly scheduled inspection of plant equipment including boilers, sumps, and sprinkler systems to ensure optimal operation and minimal down time. Ensures priority and focus is given to Critical equipment.

  • Implements a preventative maintenance schedule that is used to ensure adequate maintenance tasks and frequencies are established.

  • Owns a specific work area by operating, maintaining, and improving the area to deliver performance targets (Safety, quality, and manufacturing metrics). Maintains work areas consistent with the TPM program

  • Participates in process transfers, Job Safety Analysis, continuous improvement and loss elimination projects, and other Supply Chain and/or Research & Development initiatives.

  • Adheres to all federal, local, and departmental safety, quality, and environmental regulations/policies, and conducts themselves at all times in a manner to avoid endangering self, coworkers, equipment, property, surrounding community, and the environment. Coordinates calibration and inspection of equipment to meet all regulations.

  • Assumes and completes other duties as assigned by Reliability Team Leader

Position Details: 

  • Plant location: Garland, TX

  • Work week and shift: Mon-Fri 5:30 am-1:30 pm

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 2-4 years of maintenance or reliability experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong record of safe work practices, leading by example, and holding colleagues accountable to safe work practices

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

  • Basic understanding of technology and computer systems

  • Ability to occasionally work longer shifts and/or rotating off shifts as needed, based on demands

  • Basic understanding of math, physics, chemistry, electricity, mechanics and automation

Physical Demands:  

  • Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds 

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

  • Ability to work in conditions where exposure to noise, dust, odor, and/or temperature extremes may exist

  • Ability to meet physical demands such as frequent sitting, standing, walking, and reaching.
