About the Opportunity

This is an open position with the FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00]

The Admin Tech is responsible to perform various activities to support the Corporate Risk function, responsible for both the Enterprise Risk Management program and the Corporate Insurance Program. The role supports both from an administrative and logistical perspective with day-to-day activities more dedicated to specific Insurance tasks. The Risk team is highly collaborative across Enterprise with this role mirroring the interactions of the broader team.

This position reports to the Director, Insurance Strategy and Operations.  This is an onsite position located at the FirstEnergy Headquarters in Akron, OH.

Responsibilities:   

  • Performs a variety of complex technical administrative assignments requiring initiative, judgment, and well-developed knowledge and skills 
  • Excellent Power Point and Microsoft Word skills to support management presentation requirements as needed. 
  • Maintains databases and mailing lists associated with compensation and benefit programs
  • Monitors the Executive Mailbox
  • Supports team members with routine day-to-day and administrative activities including timekeeping, creating and maintaining traditional and electronic files and records, distributing mail, answering telephone calls, processing requisitions, expense statements and invoices, and maintaining office supply inventory and processing facilities requests for the department
  • Provides administrative support to leadership including maintaining appointment calendars, scheduling conference calls and meetings, making travel arrangements and managing itineraries and associated details; coordinates large, multi-day meetings and events
  • Handles general SAP administrative work
  • Takes initiative to solve problems and bring issues to closure 
  • Demonstrates a willingness to question established procedures and processes
  • Demonstrates a solid commitment to all aspects of safety
  • Provides sound internal and external customer service and responds in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner
  • Reviewing certificates of insurance to ensure compliance with contract terms
  • Supporting departmental budget and forecasting activities
  • Performs research and compiles data for projects and reports
  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality on projects and employee-related information

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 5 years work experience required
  • Prior work experience in an administrative support role
  • Must pass the Company’s EEI Support and Administrative Selection System (SASS) test
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  SAP and Power Point experience a plus.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and instructions, and produce high quality work products in a thorough, timely and accurate manner
  • Demonstrates a questioning attitude and experience making recommendations for process improvements when appropriate 
  • Demonstrates ability to model active learning through continuing to develop knowledge, skills and perspective
