Job Overview:
The Inventory Control Manager has complete responsibility for overall Fulfillment Center Inventory Control and Quality Assurance, working directly with Department Managers or Operations managers to ensure measures are in place to reduce and mitigate possible inventory accuracy discrepancies. They will provide leadership and direction in a high volume outbound, B2C small parcel environment. They will supervise and coordinate activities of Inventory Control workers to include maintaining a safe, effective, and orderly work environment, scheduling, continuous process improvement and maintaining positive vendor relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure key performance metrics are reviewed on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis and perform detailed analysis on behaviors and processes impacting inventory integrity
- Possess or gain expertise in key process paths and exception handling ensuring that process discipline is adhered to across all shifts and departments
- Measurement of quality and inventory transaction integrity accuracy while providing feedback to the Operations Team
- Partner with Area Managers and Operations Managers in the communication of policies in accordance with standard work
- Coordinate maintenance and random counts in accordance with FC count strategies ensuring compliance and consistency with SOX and other requirements including FDA recall notifications and documentation procedures
- Plan for and identify root causes of inventory deviation through cause-and-effect analysis
- Review and analysis of customer defect data with development of corresponding action plans to reduce defects
- Lead and supervise a team of area managers (front-line supervisors) and hourly associates in Inventory Control / Quality Assurance operations within the FC
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the operation
- Carrying out Managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures
- Drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating others to reduce shrink
- Candidate must be able to teach, educate and influence managers and associates on the importance of inventory control and quality assurance
- Optimizes storage requirements and modifies bin configuration to facilitate productive operations and maintain inventory integrity
- Partner with Sr Operations Manager and Department Managers to identify and understand key projects, initiatives system enhancements and drive results
- Work with loss prevention to establish, influence and adhere to loss prevention policies and procedures
- Participate in Network-wide quality initiatives when applicable
Basic Qualifications
- 3-5 years Inventory & Quality Assurance Management experience
- Experience with WMS systems, knowledge of High Jump Workspace a plus
- Possess strong verbal and written communications skills
- Strong analytical, math, data analysis, listening & communication skills
- Must be resilient, focused problem solver and self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a complex environment
- Proven ability to influence without authority at all levels of the organization
- Capable of working the entire MS Office suite, especially Excel
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting functions and understands inventory/accounting relationships
