Senior Software Developer

Responsibilities
Peraton is currently seeking skilled and qualified candidates for their Senior Software Developer position located in Washington, D.C. This position can be 100% remote. This position will be responsible for helping with the development of current program projects. These duties will include building software by building code, as well as modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new requirements, improve it’s performance, or upgrade interfaces.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative user-interface designs in response to deliverable requirements, user analyses, product innovation, technology, and business needs.
- Develop conceptional models, prototypes, and user-interface specifications.
- Modifying software to fix errors, adapt to new requirements, improve performance, and upgrade interfaces.
- Test, maintain and recommend software improvements to ensure strong functionality and optimization.
- Design and update software database. This includes, but is not limited to: Software Applications, Web Sites, Data Communication Processes and User Interfaces.
- Independently install, customize, and integrate commercial software packages.
- Work with cross-functional team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing based on requirements and deliverables.
- Identify ideas to improve system performance and impact availability.
- Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers.
- Compile timely, comprehensive, and accurate documentation and or reports as requested.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years related experience, master’s degree with 6+ years related experience or high school diploma/equivalent with 12+ years related experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship
- Proven work experience as a Software Developer or Software Engineer.
- Experience designing interactive applications.
- Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies. Experience with financial database development and integration with ServiceNow is a plus.
- Proficiency in software engineering tools.
- Ability to document requirements and specifications.
- Ability to learn new languages quickly.
- Ability to work as part of a team of individually on a project.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Experience developing ServiceNow or with low-code development platforms.

Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.Apply for this role
