About the Role

This role works full time in the field and will be responsible for working within the Brimbank, Merri-bek, Moonee Valley, Melbourne Council areas. Reporting to the Program Lead, this is a pivotal role within the Field Delivery North West team. As the Leading Hand Maintenance you will be responsible for providing in-field oversight of your work crew for delivery of project works, asset inspections, data collection and litter removal.    The role will use mobile devices, iPad, mobile phone and GPS for navigation, data collection and recording and resolving work orders. Due to the vast geographical area covered within the role an operational vehicle will be provided.    Your proven people leader skills and strong safety focus will see you succeed within the role.    For more information please review the Position Description:  Position Description - Leading Hand Maintenance.pdf

About you:

• Valid Victorian Drivers license (MR is preferred) with a clean driving record and confidence to drive long distances independently. • Demonstrated experience and capabilities working with and leading crews in a Civil, Natural Resource Management, Land Management, or maintenance environment. • Ability to take responsibility for own role in ensuring the safety of all team members and other personnel on site • Problem solving skills, including the ability to deliver the appropriate outcomes  • Confident in using a variety of technology, digital devices, apps and Excel • Certificate/ Diploma in Civil/Environmental disciplines or relevant related work experience  • Other qualifications such as Industry White Card, Chainsaw Ticket, Confined Space Entry, Fall Prevention, Plant Machinery competency, etc.  • Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations • Ability to pass a Police Check, Pre-employment medical and AusCheck   ** Please Note:  All employees must possess a license to perform any duty which is required to be held under Australian legislation**

The Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCI) Act 2018 requires Melbourne Water, as an operator of critical infrastructure, to prepare a Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program (CIRMP), which has been undertaken and managed by the Security and Emergency Management Team.

Melbourne Water are required to assess roles across Melbourne Water to determine what roles are critical under the Act. All employees working in a role deemed SOCI critical will require additional background checks via AusCheck.  This role is deemed critical, and the preferred applicant will be asked to undertake an AusCheck.
