What this job involves

We are seeking a skilled Painter for our West Greenwich location to repair, protect, and beautify various interior and exterior surfaces within our client's manufacturing facility. This position requires technical expertise in painting and minor carpentry, with the ability to adapt methods as needed for different surfaces. This is a full-time role offering competitive salary based on experience with a full benefits package.

What your day-to-day will look like: 

  • Apply various painting and wall covering techniques to complete projects

  • Remove and replace furniture, equipment, shelving, and fixtures as needed for work areas

  • Install and repair drywall and plaster, including applying corner beads, taping, patching, and sanding

  • Prepare, prime, and paint building interior and exterior surfaces and perform general handyman tasks to maintain buildings.

  • Covering trim, floors furniture, finishing and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint.

  • Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until they’re smooth.

  • Mixing and matching paint, stain and other finishes to job specifications.

  • Applying paint, stain and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes/rollers

  • Inspect damaged surfaces (plaster, drywall, water damage, cracks) throughout the campus

  • Removing and reinstalling fixtures (e.g., doorknobs, electric switch covers) as necessary.

  • Communicating with clients to determine their painting requirements and helping them make the best decisions for their projects.

  • Use tools and equipment safely while maintaining a secure work environment

  • Reviewing and implementing work orders and assignments.

  • Utilizes CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo) for all work performed

  • Perform additional duties as assigned, aligned with client hours

  • Performs preventive maintenance and repair work orders, primarily drywall repair and painting

  • Maintains and repairs building equipment as directed by operations team

  • Organizes, moves and repairs office furniture, machinery, and equipment as requested and event-related items for special events; including setup and removal.

Required Qualifications:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with interior and exterior painting

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to hang and finish drywall and plaster

  • Basic computer skills

  • Carpentry background

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

  • Perform overhead work while standing on ladders

  • Navigate confined spaces (closets, crawl spaces)

  • Bend, kneel, twist, and reach in difficult access areas

  • Regularly lift/carry up to 10 pounds; frequently up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 35 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Painting knowledge

  • Framing knowledge

  • General maintenance experience

  • GMP experience

Location:

Onsite - West Greenwich, RI

Work Shift:

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Salary/ Comp:

$60000 - $70000 | $28,84 - $33,65 per hour
