The Product R&D organization within Emerson Test & Measurement is seeking an R&D Project Manager in Austin, TX to lead and coordinate new product development projects. The R&D Project Manager will be responsible for leading and handling innovative hardware and/or software projects from definition through execution to meet scope, cost, timeline, and quality. This will include leading cross-functional, global teams and balancing the demands of multiple projects. This will also include gaining and leveraging customer insights to guide project decisions. Additionally, there is opportunity to drive improvements in our process and how we deliver on business objectives to meet customer needs.Come join the team!
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Lead and manage R&D projects through definition, planning, and execution.
- Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant collaborators and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Build and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, and milestones.
- Coordinate with global, internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects are on track and meet desired specifications.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered timely, within scope, and within budget while maintaining long-term quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct risk management to minimize project risks and make vital adjustments to meet project objectives.
- Prepare and present project updates to various stakeholders, including team members, managers, executives, and external partners.
- Ensure all project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Propose and implement changes and improvements to existing processes for effective and efficient communication, operations, and execution alignment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal competencies
- English language proficiency and effective oral and written communication skills
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
- Project management experience in the Electronics industry
- Experience working with Hardware and Software Engineering teams
- Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Logistics knowledge
