Job Highlights:Contract: Independent Contractor
Schedule: (40 hours per week)
- Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm AEST (7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Manila Time)
- Includes 1-hour unpaid break
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The job responsibilities of this Network & Security Engineer role include, but are not limited to:
• Design, deploy, and manage network solutions for clients, including LAN, WAN, and WLAN configurations, to ensure the reliability and performance of their network infrastructure.
• Cybersecurity activities, including deploy, configure & manage SIEM, SOAR & Automation solutions
• DevOps activities utilising Infrastructure as Code with Python, Ansible and Terraform
• Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection system and SIEM solutions, to protect clients' network environments from potential threats and breaches.
• Monitor and optimise network performance, utilising network monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential issues and bottlenecks.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network/security-related issues, resolving complex network problems to minimise downtime and ensure continuous network availability for clients.
• Collaborate with the Managed Services team to develop and implement network & security integration strategies for clients, ensuring seamless transitions and efficient network operations.
• Conduct regular network & security assessments and audits to identify optimisation opportunities, cost-effective solutions, and performance enhancements for clients' network environments.
• Stay informed about the latest network & security technologies, updates, and best practices, and provide recommendations for leveraging new features and capabilities to enhance clients' network infrastructure.
• Perform regular penetration testing as require for internal and client systems
• Analysing a specific incident from its detection through to developing a containment strategy and executing subsequent remediation plans.
• Providing crisis management with clients and directing incident investigation and containment activities, including conducting threat hunting activities.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to clients' network configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients' network-related inquiries, issues, and concerns, delivering exceptional customer service and support.
• Assist with scoping and development of client proposals.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver customer projects.
• Act as a mentor to more junior team members
• Provide after-hours support when required in emergencies
• Attain and maintain relevant qualifications and technical certifications.
Key Relationships/engagements
• Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their specific network/security requirements and providing customised solutions to meet their business objectives.
• Collaborate with the sales and account management teams to provide technical expertise during the pre-sales and post-sales processes, ensuring that proposed network solutions align with clients' needs and expectations.
