In this pivotal role as Sr. Technical Project Manager, Security within BD’s Dispensing R&D organization, you will organize and execute a range of security initiatives. You’ll take ownership of multiple projects, managing all aspects such as timeline, scope, dependencies, and risk mitigation, and integrate seamlessly into our agile planning framework. Strong expertise in communication and project management for technology-based initiatives is essential as you work closely with internal teams and business stakeholders to drive successful outcomes for these projectsThe ideal candidate also has strong experience operationalizing secure engineering operations within an enterprise software development organization and has experience supporting government contracts, POA&Ms, and STIGs. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Ability to plan, lead, and drive the execution of large, complex, multi-organizational initiatives 

  • Create organization and structure from ambiguity 

  • Manage and track security related deliverables to completion 

  • Early identification of project risks and aggressive pursuit of mitigations 

  • Guide and track the integration of security standard methodologies into the product planning and development process, including ongoing management of STIG reviews, POA&Ms, and security vulnerabilities 

  • Create and run dashboards in JIRA, TFS, and other tools to track progress and create clarity for stakeholders 

  • Report regular status updates to the executive leadership team 

  • Evangelize standard methodologies for security operations and cultivate a community of practice that promotes secure engineering 

  • Guide software development teams and other stakeholders on using agile and lean principles 

  • Lead retrospectives to solicit feedback and promote continuous improvement 

  • Remove impediments  

  • Aid in early identification and communication of risks and issues  

  • Facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members. 

  • Coordinate the release of new software versions to production 

 

Skills and Competencies: 

  • Strong organizational and communication skills 

  • Experience creating Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs) and tracking engineering responsibilities to timely completion 

  • Ability to coach teams on agile practices and ensure adherence to agile methodology to deliver max business value on time
