With responsibilities that span across Pfizer’s entire portfolio of vaccines, the Community Engagement Specialist (CES) is a customer-facing role that works directly with community-based organizations to identify key influencers in the health equity space, develop working relationships, and facilitate dissemination of RC-approved unbranded, educational materials designed to help foster vaccine adoption. CESs aim to reach community groups that share in our mission to help overcome health disparities among minorities and other groups with disproportionately poorer vaccine uptake, health comes, or both
It’s a fast-paced, collaborative environment that requires an organized colleague with customer-facing and community engagement experience who is comfortable with ambiguity and has the ability to navigate the organization to get things done.
This position will report to the Sr. Director, Multicultural Marketing & Health Equity Team Lead.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish key objectives, goals, and reporting metrics for target geography in tandem with overarching Multicultural Marketing & Health Equity Team goals, spanning the full portfolio of Vaccines across all audiences, including Adults, Maternal, Pediatrics, and Adolescents
- Identify opportunities (national, regional, and local) to initiate and expand new and existing relations in community to deepen Pfizer’s engagement with community, build trust, and advance awareness and adoption of vaccines across the full portfolio
- Engage with consumers and community leaders to discuss RC-approved, unbranded educational content to raise awareness and help educate consumers about vaccines across a number of different settings, meeting them where they are (e.g., health fairs, community meetings, community events / presentations)
- Continuously assess local market challenges to vaccination access via community feedback, secondary data, and any other relevant sources
- Regularly summarize key insights impacting vaccine uptake and share back with Multicultural Marketing & Health Equity team as well as the broader US Vaccines Consumer organization, informing strategic as well as tactical planning and execution decisions
- Create opportunities for collaboration and two-way engagement with community organizations driven by each organization’s unique engagement model (e.g., townhalls, surveys, events, etc.), to support the goal of addressing vaccine equity challenges
- Collaborate with Multicultural Marketing & Health Equity colleagues to select appropriately tailored materials and communication mediums for consumers and community leaders
- Collaborate with Multicultural Marketing & Health Equity colleagues to develop practical strategies to solve access barriers through local partnerships
- Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams (via Multicultural Marketing & Health Equity colleagues) to understand existing health equity initiatives/partnerships and available tools deployed for geography selection
- Collaborate with other Customer Facing Colleagues, where appropriate, to identify areas of unmet need within the community and develop relationships with local partners
- Share lessons learned from community engagement beyond Consumer Marketing to inform broader community engagement efforts across Pfizer (e.g., Public affairs, Global Health Equity CoE)
- Document activity and generate reports documenting key performance metrics in collaboration with insights and analytics colleagues
- Share progress on vaccine adoption and equity initiatives with Multicultural Marketing & Health Equity colleagues
Qualifications:
Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required; Master's Degree in public health, health administration or public/business administration preferred
- 6+ years relevant work experience in public health, public policy, health equity, pharma or other related fields
- Prior development and implementation of strategic initiatives focused on health/social inequities
- Established ties to local community and local initiatives focused on health equity, strongly preferred
