About the team and the role:
As a Senior Product Designer on the Seller Experience team, you will play a pivotal role in defining the future of eBay’s selling platform. Your work will intersect with some of the most critical selling jobs to be done including; managing active listings, fulfilling orders, and accelerating sales. You’ll design highly scalable experiences that enable sellers of all sizes and experience levels to thrive on eBay. You’ll balance revolution with evolution to account for sellers’ established behaviors while also identifying opportunities for step function improvement through radical innovation.
This role requires a strong systems thinker, an advocate for seller needs, and a craftsperson with a keen eye for modern, high-quality UX. You should have a proven ability to partner closely with product, engineering, research, content strategy, and brand teams—aligning on a shared vision and collaborating effectively to bring new experiences to life.
What you will accomplish:
Act strategically to define experience architectures and interaction models that can serve all seller segments across all platforms (web and native).
Raise the bar for experience quality and attention to detail through compelling interaction, visual, and micro-interaction design.
Champion the user throughout the product development lifecycle—leveraging research insights, data, and customer feedback to guide decision-making.
Work “end to end” — from identifying problems to delivering a full and complete product solution — delivering with efficiency and agility.
Build trusting relationships with your cross-functional partners and engage in healthy debate and trade-off conversations to align the team around a shared vision that balances user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
Advocate for inclusive, accessible, and globally relevant design practices that reflect eBay’s diverse customer base and dedication to equitable solutions.
What you will bring:
5+ years of professional experience designing software or consumer products, demonstrating a hands-on approach to delivering end-to-end user experiences.
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is welcome—what matters most is what you’ve built, how you think, and how you align your team.
A dedication to craft, demonstrated through competitive analysis, user research, interaction and visual design, prototyping, storytelling, and AI-enhanced design and collaboration techniques.
Passion for product quality, continuous learning, and crafting experiences that spark emotional engagement and build user trust.
Rich experience working closely with Designers, Researchers, Content Strategists, Product Managers, Product Marketers, Business Partners, and Developers throughout the product development lifecycle.
A portfolio that highlights relevant design projects and clearly communicates your design process, explorations, and final outcomes.
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$108,000 - $186,900Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
