Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: The UA ACTS Program Associate serves as the main point-of-contact for students in the program and peer mentors. Maintains a caseload, serving as a primary mentor for several students in the program. Works with degree-seeking Autistic individuals on academic organization, social skills, daily living skills, and career building skills. Organizes and plans structured social activities for students in the program. Coordinates the program’s peer mentors. Attends campus and community outreach events.

Additional Department Summary: The UA-ACTS program facilitates a campus environment that promotes an enjoyable and successful college experience for students with ASD in preparation for their future endeavors by providing individualized services to help students develop appropriate skills for self-advocacy, daily living, and social interactions that will contribute to their success as an independent adult. Provides support for the transition into a large, traditional university campus and to guide students towards achieving their goals for the future. Promotes awareness and understanding of ASDs throughout the campus community through education, training, and collaborations with University programs, faculty, staff, and students.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience; OR associate’s degree and two (2) years of experience; OR bachelor's degree or higher.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent communication and organizational skills. Adaptable and flexible with changing environments. Ability to learn and keep up with latest trends and research regarding Autism Spectrum Disorders. Ability to work independently and autonomously.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Communicative Disorders, Education, Social Work, or related field. Experience working with, and knowledge of, Autism Spectrum Disorders and the needs of Autistic individuals.
