AGCO Corp has an exciting opportunity for a high-impact Senior Buyer to join its Purchasing team in Batavia IL, PDC.  The Batavia PDC is the master distribution center for North America operating around the clock to serve internal and external customers on a global scale. In this position, you will drive the highest level of service and quality to our customers’ network. As a Sr. Buyer you will be responsible to support any actions in identifying and developing a strong and sustainable, best-in class supply base in alignment with global commodity strategies. Your goals will include negotiating and maintaining an assigned supply base. Maintaining SAP system, setting up and updating sourcing rules to ensure a smooth ordering and receiving of items in the respective warehouses. You will be working closely with the various Parts Purchasing teams in Europe, Turkey, India, China, North and South America. You will have ongoing cross-functional interaction with Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing and other teams around the globe.

 

Your Impact

• For select commodities, develop and execute long-term strategy deployment along with supplier opportunity assessments, negotiations, long-term contract establishment, continuous supplier performance improvement, and supplier relationship development.
• Sourcing of items and ensure sourcing rules allow correct allocation to our warehouses around the world as well as system maintenance for managed suppliers. 
• Develop a solid working knowledge of certain commodity trends including cost drivers, material lead times, and technical/manufacturing processes.
• Ensure successful delivery of identified cost savings.
• Review and maintain system for cost as well as manage service life /end of life cycle, supersessions, and replacements of assigned commodities. 

 

Your Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field
• 5-7 years’ experience as a Buyer, Commodity Manager, Supply Chain Analyst, or equivalent.
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience in usage of SAP/ERP systems
