A DAY IN THE LIFE

Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, this role will oversee the financial operations and compliance for our dynamic and high-growth business lines focused on segregating Federal and State funded business activity into its own legal group of companies (collectively Montrose Government Solutions or MGS). The Controller will play a crucial role in establishing and ensuring adherence to FAR cost accounting principles and maintaining financial integrity and transparency in all related financial activities. This role will help lead the Montrose Federal Implementation Team and the ongoing MGS business enclave. The initial focus on the design and implementation of a non-CAS control structure and/or JV partnerships for MGS, will likely evolve to a full-CAS complainant environment as Montrose continues to scale and expand Federal and State opportunities.

This position can be performed from our Montrose office locations Orlando, Nashville, Atlanta, Portland, ME, or other ECE or ECT2 locations. Remote candidates may be considered. The position will require occasional domestic travel to meet with operational and finance teams, as well as target acquisitions.

This role is expected to:

  • Implement and maintain compliant accounting policies and procedures in accordance with FAR regulations.

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate and timely financial reports required for government contracts and grants.

  • Ensure proper allocation of costs and expenses to comply with FAR cost principles.

  • Monitor and analyze financial data and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and government contract requirements.

  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits and reviews related to government contracts and grants.

  • Provide financial guidance and support to management in decision-making processes related to government contracts, pricing and overhead rates.

  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Stay updated on changes in FAR regulations and ensure organizational compliance.
