The Team:

The Structured Finance Research team is at the forefront of analyzing complex asset-backed securities and structured products. We work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, providing critical insights that drive investment decisions and market understanding. Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on asset-backed securities (ABS) and structured finance products across various sectors
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate credit risk, cash flow projections, and performance metrics for structured products
  • Prepare high-quality research reports, presentations, and analytical summaries for internal teams and external clients
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments that impact structured finance markets
  • Collaborate with senior analysts and cross-functional teams to support investment decision-making processes
  • Participate in client calls and meetings to present research findings and respond to analytical inquiries

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $72,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • 0-2 years of experience in financial analysis, credit analysis, or structured finance (entry to early career level appropriate for GL8)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex financial concepts clearly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for financial analysis and modeling
  • Ability to work in either Denver, CO or Chicago, IL office locations
  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week 
  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or coursework experience in structured finance, credit analysis, or fixed income markets
  • Familiarity with financial databases and analytical platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar tools
  • Understanding of credit rating methodologies and risk assessment frameworks
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to work effectively under tight deadlines in a dynamic market environment
