9B Neuro Progressive Care Unit is a 19-bed unit specializing in neurological care, featuring 12 progressive care beds and 7 acute care beds. Our primary patient population includes individuals undergoing complex head and neck surgical procedures such as:
• Craniotomies for tumor resection
• Cranioplasty
• Deep brain stimulator placement for Parkinson’s disease
• Carotid endarterectomy
• Post-surgical stroke management
• Transsphenoidal tumor resections
• Seizure management
• Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt placement
• Chiari malformation treatment
• Myasthenia gravis care
Nurses on 9B develop advanced critical thinking skills and thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. They are integral members of the interdisciplinary care team, actively contributing to patient outcomes and continuously seeking opportunities for personal and professional growth.
