What You’ll Be Doing:
- Manage daily accounting operations and ensure smooth workflow.
- Conduct bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Oversee A/P, A/R, and cash management.
- Maintain and improve financial reporting systems.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and assist in meeting strategic goals.
- Guide and support accounting staff (prior leadership experience is a plus, but not required)

Essential Duties
- Lead company payroll processing and auditing; including paid time off policies, PTO accruals and employee reimbursements.
- Maintain accounting for a portfolio of properties and on the corporate level.
- Lead in closing monthly accounting cycles, inclusive of accruals, journal entries, and variance reporting.
- Ensure monthly bank activities and deposits are performed in a timely manner at each property location.
- Oversee all operations under account payables, receivables, and cash functions.
- Prepare and submit sales and use tax filings as required.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the accounting team by promoting the values and brand of the company.
- Provide training on the accounting processes with new and existing employees (all levels and departments within the organization).
- Maintain a strong accounting and operational control environment to watch assets, improve operations and profitability, and manage business risks.
- Ensure all procedures and processes are in compliance with all appropriate and required standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain compliance with all generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Communicate financial reports and data in a clear and persuasive manner at the management level to drive and meet all company goals and expectations.
- Leverage all available technology and effectively uses information systems and tools to generate financial reports and data to drive decision making at the management level.
- Lead and review all company audits that directly have an impact on the accounting team and make corrections and adjustments as needed.
- Complete all assigned reports and/or projects to management by the required deadline.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skill & Ability Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience required.
- Knowledgeable of accounting standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Knowledge of the property management industry is a plus.
- Knowledgeable and proficient with computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (MS Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Experience with OneSite software is a plus.
- Maintain valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Flexibility with working hours and availability for later hours or Saturdays as needed (audit season).
- Ability to prioritize and possess efficient time management skills.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills with ability to handle complaints
