Job Summary

As an Associate IT Support Technician, you support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, and peripherals.  This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance.  Troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required.

Job Responsibilities

  • System Support & Maintenance: Install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade computer systems, desktops, and peripherals to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while providing end-user training and assistance.
  • Technical Issue Resolution: Evaluate, prioritize, and respond to service requests. Analyze and diagnose PC and network problems, recommending and implementing solutions. Perform system maintenance and upgrades as needed.
  • Hardware & Software Management: Install, configure, test, monitor, and troubleshoot workstations, peripherals, and networked devices. Maintain an inventory of IT assets, tracking failures, repairs, and installations.
  • User & System Coordination: Maintain communication with end users to ensure systems meet business needs. Coordinate with technical staff to implement and maintain secure and efficient systems.
  • Helpdesk & Reporting: Provide technical support, maintain accurate ticket records, generate reports, and track system performance metrics. Place vendor service calls as necessary.
  • Professional Development & Organizational Support: Stay updated on industry trends, participate in educational opportunities, and contribute to organizational goals by seeking ways to enhance job performance and add value.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
    Understanding of current principles and practices of IT support and ability to work closely with users and other IT professionals to identify, analyze and resolve system problems
  • Understanding of and/or experience in Help Desk functionality and IT maintenance procedures
  • Experience with consulting and/or customer service
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to successfully interact with other IT professionals and end-users
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Is open and responsive to change and demonstrates a commitment to the process of continuous improvement by identifying and responding actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers
