Data Science Co-op

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will need to be familiar with statistical analysis, data modeling and programming. This individual will independently develop algorithms in SAS and/or Python to clean, process, analyze and visualize large multivariate datasets. Should be able to work closely with data science team and business partners to break down complex business problems to build feasible solutions that are impactful, accurate and validated.

 This position will run from January to August 2026 and is expected to work an average of 40 hours per week.

Job responsibilities:

Design and prototype models using statistical modeling, machine learning, process modeling, and other techniques.

Work with mentor and other researchers and scientists to quickly gain domain knowledge and understand business processes.

Present data driven insight, recommendations, and solutions to a broad range of audiences including peers, leadership and internal customers in a clear interpretable manner.

Expand professional networks with the business and the Data and Data Science Community

Job Qualifications: 

Currently pursuing Ph.D. or M.S. degree (or final year Bachelors) in a discipline related to Data Science (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science/Engineering);

Theoretical knowledge and practical experience with advanced statistical modeling techniques;

Fluency in using SQL, Python or SAS for data manipulation, computational statistics, and model development;

Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse cross-functional environment;

Ability to turn complex biological data into meaningful insights;

Good organizational skills with keen attention to details
