Summary
Our internships are full-time positions (40 hours/week). Candidates will be expected to be available to work during normal business hours (Monday – Friday; exact hours will vary by position and some positions might require work on Saturdays). To be eligible for the internship program, candidates are required to be enrolled at an accredited post-secondary educational institution or have graduated from one within the 6 months prior to the start date of the internship. Candidates who do not meet our guideline will not be considered. This position will start on January 2025 and end on May 9th, 2025 with a chance for extension through December 2024. Applications for later terms will not be accepted at this time.
Responsibilities
This internship position will support the Innovation and Corporate Strategy team on various projects and tasks and will be critical in supporting the daily tasks of the Director of Industrial Engineering, Production Systems, and Strategy.
The right candidate for this role enjoys switching from one subject to another in a quick manner throughout the day, as well as learning about various projects that improve the efficiency of the Chattanooga Plant. He/she must have excellent professional acumen because this person will interact with upper management daily. He/she will learn from the team as well as contribute new ideas on how to improve the various projects the team works on.
- Become acquainted with IE/PS/S roles and responsibilities.
- Support Director of IE/S with calendar organization and support him by prioritize emails and respond when necessary.
- Draft, review and send communications on behalf of Director.
- Improve and expand Strategy standards and processes.
- Create/Improve processes and procedures for data entry / acquisition particularly in the Ideas Program.
- Identify areas of potential improvements in IE/PS/S.
- Organize and prepare for meetings, including gathering documents and attending to logistics of meetings for topics related to Ideas Program, Efficiency Program, and Strategy meetings.
- Maintain various records and documents for Director.
Qualifications
Education Required: 3+ years completed towards Engineering, Business, Finance, or other relevant degree.
- Previous experience in an office is a plus.
Skills:
- Excellent MS Office Skills—Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
- Good analytical, conceptual, and creative thinking.
- Experience creating access databases.
- Experience writing macros.
- Ability to take initiative and work with little supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Fluent English—Spanish or German a plus.
