Sr. Software Engineer - AI Applications

What we need:

As a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Microservices and SDKs, you will play a pivotal role within our AI Applications team. Leveraging our advanced Multimodal AI Platform (MAP), you’ll bridge the gap between customer success, product development, and engineering to deliver impactful AI-driven solutions. You’ll collaborate closely across multiple teams, serving as the customer facing Tech Lead while becoming an expert and champion of the Coactive platform.

 

What you’ll do:

• Act as an expert and advocate for the Coactive product, demonstrating its capabilities and value.
• Collaborate with the product team and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful microservices using Python and FastAPI.
• Work with Platform and DevOps teams to deploy and manage services on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP etc.,).
• Provide technical guidance to prospects and customers, leading Proof-of-Value engagements and technical integrations.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical support to sales and solutions engineers.
• Maintain clear documentation and establish streamlined processes to enhance collaboration.

 

What we look for:

• BS (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience building distributed, highly scalable microservices with Python and FastAPI.
• Strong understanding of SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in customer-facing technical roles, such as solutions engineering or SME, is preferred.
• Ability to work with non-technical stakeholders to develop solutions that drive customer success.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and executive audiences, including delivering demos and product walkthroughs.
• Ability to mentor both technical and non-technical team members.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment is a plus.
• Knowledge of GO and experience in building SDKs are highly desirable.

 

What you can expect from us:

• Location: San Jose, California (hybrid, with three days in office) 

The estimated annual base salary for this position is between $166,000-$190,000.*
